Boil Water Advisory Issued for DeKalb County Amid Water Main Break
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A boil water advisory was issued early Wednesday morning for a large portion of DeKalb County, extending from the Emory area to Edgewood in Atlanta.
The advisory, described as being issued "out of an abundance of caution," follows a water main break reported Tuesday night at Clairmont Road and Dresden Drive in Brookhaven.
Advisory Boundaries
According to the alert, which contained minor errors in describing road directions, the impacted area spans:
- North: Mason Mill Road
- West: Briarcliff Road and Moreland Avenue
- South: Hosea Williams Drive
- East: Clairmont Road and Candler Road
Background
A notice issued Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. warned that a "substantial number" of residents in North Central DeKalb might lose water service as repairs were underway. It also noted impacts in the Toco Hills area. However, Wednesday morning's advisory significantly expanded the affected region.
County Response
DeKalb County Commissioner Robert Patrick shared a map of the advisory boundaries on Facebook, along with a statement emphasizing that the measure was precautionary.

To assist residents, DeKalb Watershed has set up bottled water distribution points at the following locations:

- Fire Station 3: 24 N. Clarendon Ave.
- Fire Station 7: 1712 Columbia Dr.
- Fire Station 9: 3858 N. Druid Hills Rd.
- Fire Station 20: 2919 Warren Rd.
